Established in 1973, H & I Engineering (incorporating Hind - Irvine Boiler Repairs) provide an extensive range of services. Our workforce of fully qualified tradesmen includes skilled welders, pipefitters and fabricators who are conversant with site working conditions.
Over the years projects undertaken have included a range of work for not only local, but national and international companies.
Among our clients are Pirelli, British Gas, Zeneca, Courtalds, Gates Rubber Company, Gates Power Transmission, Chirex, BNFL and UCB Films.

Fabrication
As fabricators of carbon steel, stainless steel and other alloy materials, we have earned the reputation of producing quality products at competitive prices, delivered on time. We supply fabrications for a wide range of applications. Experience ranges from low pressure pipework systems to the stringent requirements of British and International boiler and vessel construction codes.
Boiler Repair And Maintenance
All types of mechanical and refactory repairs to boiler and heat exchangers. N.D.T. testing and statutory inspection preparation.Complete retubes and pressure part replacement. Complete new boilerhouse installations, structures, feed tanks, hotwells and blow down tanks manufactured and installed.
Machinery Installation
Our skilled personnel can undertake new installation or modifications to all types on industrial machinery involving hydraulics, pneumatics, electric conveying systems, attendant duct and pipework. Process control and instrumentation, electronic programmable controllers, thyristor drives, control panel design and building.
Welding
Our team of skilled welders are qualified to British and International standards to undertake both shop and site contracts utilising manual metal arc, metal inert gas or tungsten inert gas processes, achieving consistent quality levels throughout the manufacturing cycle.Welders tested to BS EN287, by A.O.T.C. Member company on BS EN288 and ASME IX approved procedures.

Capability
Our Eastriggs works comprises an area 1265m 2 and is equipped with lathes, drills, welding plant, tube bending equipment, plate bending rolls, guillotine, hydraulic press and rotators etc. The production area is served by two 5 tonne over cranes. We are well placed geographically at the North end of the M6, only some 6 miles from Gretna permitting easy access to both North bound and South bound carriage routes.
